Hills Learning is teaming with the Chess Educators to provide a unique camp experience to offer both Mandarin Chinese Immersion instruction and an interactive Chess program! Our camp uses a unique and fun experience to learn Mandarin. Kids will participate in fun, engaging activities, and they start off the day with a morning wakeup physical activity. Then in the afternoon, kids get engaged in playing Chess and learning fun and effective strategies. No other school offers such a program that develops children both physically and mentally, and of course fun!
Chinese Details Our Chinese language instruction is fun and effective. Through interactive games and activities, the students learn the basics of this incredible language. All language skills are developed, from writing and reading, to speaking and listening. We follow a textbook designed specifically for children learning Chinese.
Chess Details The chess camp provided by Chess Educators uses an interactive and hands-on approach for kids to learn chess. Chess camp activities include chess instruction and lessons, a chess lab which includes worksheets, problem solving, and more tactics. Kids will also participate in class tournament games with notation and clocks making the camp an exciting and rewarding experience.
Ages 5 to 12 years old, accommodations can be made in certain circumstances

Dates and Days of the Week FIRST SESSION - JULY 9 THROUGH JULY 18 SECOND SESSION - JULY 23 THROUGH AUG 1 DAYS – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Time DROP OFF - 845am to 900am 900am to 1200pm - Chinese 1200pm to 100pm - Lunch 100pm to 400pm - Chess
PICKUP - 400pm to 415pm
Camp Pricing and Sign Up All students must sign up for two weeks minimum, and choose FIRST or SECOND sessions. They can also take the camp for 4 weeks and receive a discount.
PRICING (COMBINED PROGRAM - Recommended) – $1050 for two weeks Purchase 4 weeks and save! Four weeks - $1900 Special Sibling discount – an additional 10% off per child
(CHESS OR CHINESE ONLY) $630 for two weeks ** Please note ** t-shirts, teaching materials, light snacks and other materials will be included with the camp.
Students are responsible to bring their own lunches.
