Ann Kim

Ann has a masters degree from NYU and vast experiences teaching Korean, such as at the New School and Korea Society. At Hills Learning she has been teaching for over ten years. She also has many years of corporate experience in working in Korean companies.

Kaoru Komi

Kaoru has a B.A. of archaeology from Meiji University. She has a strong international background, having lived and taught Japanese for refugee and locals in Cambodia in the 1990’s. Kaoru developed the teaching method, direct method, through her experience in southeastern Asian countries and has been teaching Japanese for 25 years. Besides teaching Kaoru has also worked for newspapers both in Tokyo and New York.

Janet Lai

Janet taught for many years at NYU before coming to Hills Learning as a Cantonese language instructor. She has a masters from the University of Hong Kong and is a Hong Kong native speaker of Cantonese. She has been with Hills Learning for over five years.

Nobuko Allman

Nobuko has a B.A. of English from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and has a teaching license of English. Nobuko also has an M.A. in Communications from the University of Arkansas and obtained a teaching certificate for teaching Japanese as a second language. Nobuko has worked as an interpreter, translator in Houston, TX, and a Japanese teacher in both the private and public sectors for over 20 years.

Yunhi Yu

Yunhi has unique experiences as a teacher, as she has taught both children and adults the Korean language. She has a bachelors degree from a University in Korea and a masters degree from Syracuse. She has 7+ years teaching experience.

Jariyaporn Udomsap

Jari has a bachelors degree from Thailand and holds a certificate for teaching Thai to foreigners in person, as well as online. She has multiple years teaching experience and has also studied foreign languages herself, such as Italian and French.

Tess Lai

Tess has a B.Ed. from National Taiwan Normal University and an M.S. from National Taiwan University. Tess has been teaching Mandarin since 2009 and has experiences in teaching both adults and children.

Porhatai Apirachadaporn

Porhatai has a bachelors from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, a masters from Monash University in Australia, and a graduate diploma for teaching Thai as a foreign language. She has 6+ years teaching experience, teaching Thai as well as also teaching Mandarin Chinese.

Seung-Ah Ryu

Seung-Ah has a masters degree from Inje University in Korea. She teaches both group and private lessons for Hills Learning, and also teaches Korean for a language school online.

Vincie Ho

Vincie earned a Phd from the University of Hong Kong. She taught there for almost 10 years. She speaks Cantonese (native language), as well as French, Mandarin and some Thai. She teaches both group classes both face to face and online for Hills Learning.

Yurina has a masters from NYU and a bachelors from Chonnam National University in Korea. She has been a Korean instructor for a number of years, and also taught music in the classroom and afterschool programs.

Tokiko Yoshida

Tokiko has a B.A of laws from Keio University. Tokiko is a certified Japanese instructor and has been teaching internationally since 2010. Tokiko has taught both corporate classes and adult regular classes of many different levels at Japanese language schools in Singapore and Tokyo and also at a University in Vietnam.

Kyoko has a teaching license for the Japanese language and a B.A. of Japanese literature from Japan Women's University. Kyoko also has a Japanese Language Teacher Certificate. Kyoko teaches both kids and adult classes in New York.

Seungmin has a masters in Education from Boston University and has also taken the Korean Language Teacher Training Program at Incheon National University. She has been an instructor for a number of years, teaching both Korean and English.

Jun has taught private Japanese classes from beginner to advanced level in NY and has also taught Japanese at a middle school. Jun is a master of traditional Japanese cuisine and sake sommelier. Jun is also an award-winning Japanese ceramic artist.
